I've been saving my djinn essences -- I'll expert salvage those.

I got a sapphire by expert salvaging a geode (and got dusts salvaging 4 or so others)

Ive gotten a couple diamonds and a ruby from ordinary white items that drop from djins. The diamonds sold to trader for 1.3k each today. My advice, salvage everything that they drop.

I expert salved 31 djinn essenses and got a ruby and a sapphire. From that calculation would be 1/15, but I have to continue testing to be sure. I'm planning on collecting 250 stacks of each and expert salving them to get a more accurate drop rate. I think salving all at once instead of one at a time will increase your chances as well.

Question 1: do you need to expert salvage the jewled weapons and Djini essences to get a jewl?

Question 2: Anyone try putting the highly salvagable inscription on an inscribably jewlled item?

Answer 1: Yes, since gems are a rare crafting material, you need to use a superior/expert kit to have any chance of salvaging one.

Answer 2: Yes, it's a very common practice to increase one's chances of getting a gem from said item.

Just a random ruby drop? Probably, completely awesome? Yes!

On the real though I tried farming some more crags in various places , I think it was just random.

Default Rare Materials?

I was doing the test, farming those Djins in Hidden City of Adashin (several runs, killing hundereds of Djinns). Collected 7 "Djinn Essences", 17 white "Jeweled" Items, 6 Purple "Jeweled" Items and 1 Gold "Jeweled" Item.

Since I dont have enough "Highly Salvagable Inscription", I inscribed the gold and 3 purple jeweled items.
Used Expert Savage Kit only.

Result:
Dust (too many, > 500 in total)
Iron: 87

Personal Conclusion:
Too poor results to be worth farming those Djinns. Salvaging Diamonds, Ruby and Sapphire is possible (according to others, not to me), but odds are...
